Title: Cats on the Prairie - The Twin Cities & Western along the route of the Milwaukee Road (VHS video)
Seller ID: PW100
Along the route of the Milwaukee Road Olympian Hiawatha, the Twin Cities & Western embraces the big city, the farm and river valley on its route between Minneapolis/St. Paul and eastern South Dakota. Primarily a granger road, the TC&W has a fleet of rare Caterpillar-powered GP20's often teamed up with ex-Red River Valley & Western CF-7 road slugs. From the western suburbs of the Twin Cities the TC&W enters the city on other lines tracks, primarily the CP, along with the BNSF and the Minnesota Commercial. The TC&W also uses ex-MN&S tracks to reach Mississippi and Minnesota River grain elevators for trans-shipment to barges. Out west it connects with the BNSF and Sisseton Milbank Railroad shortline. The Milwaukee Road #261 steam locomotive is also followed traveling this route. A Railfanning guidebook with maps and radio frequencies is included. PrairieWorks, 70 min., VHS in color and stereo.
